September Adventures: Things to Do on Florida’s Space Coast This Month

September on Florida's Space Coast might not bring crisp fall temperatures and changing leaves, but that doesn't mean we're skipping the fun!

From local markets and live music to festivals, outdoor adventures and, of course, rocket launches, September is a great time to get out and explore Brevard County. Whether you live here year-round, recently moved to the area or are visiting the Space Coast, there is plenty happening from Titusville to Cocoa Beach, Melbourne and beyond.

Here are some of the events and activities to put on your September 2026 Space Coast calendar.

Shop Local at the Cocoa Village Saturday Art Market

Saturdays in September | Cocoa Village

Spend a Saturday exploring Historic Cocoa Village while supporting local artists and makers.

The Cocoa Village Saturday Art Market returns throughout September at Myrt Tharpe Square, where local artisans showcase original artwork and handcrafted items.

After browsing the market, make a day of it by exploring Cocoa Village's locally owned shops and restaurants or taking a walk along the Indian River.

September dates include September 5, 12, 19 and 26.

Spend an Evening at the Night Market in Titusville

September 5 | 5–9 PM | Playalinda Brewing Company

Kick off the month with a Saturday night in Titusville.

The Night Market at Playalinda Brewing Company brings together more than 16 local vendors along with live music and locally brewed favorites.

It's a fun excuse to head to downtown Titusville, shop local and enjoy an evening out.

Get an Early Start on Spooky Season at Brevard Zoo

Select Nights Beginning September 8 | Brevard Zoo

Who says you have to wait until October for Halloween?

Beginning in September, Brevard Zoo transforms after dark for Beware the Night, a family-friendly nighttime experience featuring eerie lighting, glowing jack-o-lanterns, mysterious sounds, foggy pathways and larger-than-life displays.

The event runs on select nights in September and October from 6–10 PM, making it a fun way to get an early start on spooky season.

During the daytime, Brevard Zoo is also one of the area's favorite family destinations, with animal encounters and activities that make it easy to turn your visit into an entire day of adventure.

Sip & Shop in Downtown Melbourne

September 10 | Downtown Melbourne

Historic Downtown Melbourne is getting into the fall spirit with its Fall Sip & Shop.

Participating businesses will open their doors for an evening of shopping and drink tastings. Pick up your tasting glass and guide and stroll through downtown while discovering local boutiques, restaurants and businesses.

It's a great opportunity to support local businesses while enjoying one of Brevard County's most walkable downtown districts.

Browse the Sunday Market in Melbourne

September 13 | Noon–4 PM | Intracoastal Brewing Company

Another opportunity to shop local arrives September 13 with the Sunday Market at Intracoastal Brewing Company.

More than 25 local vendors are expected, along with live music in the beer garden.

Whether you're searching for locally made goods or simply want a relaxed Sunday afternoon, this is an easy addition to your September weekend plans.

Enjoy an Afternoon of Jazz

September 13 | Cocoa Area

Looking for a little live music?

The 2026–2027 concert season kicks off with saxophonist Dan Wilborn & Friends presenting Battle of the Horns.

September brings plenty of live entertainment throughout the Space Coast, so keep an eye on local theaters, downtown districts, breweries and community venues for additional performances announced throughout the month.

Discover Something Different at Space Coast Print Fest

September 19 | 10 AM–5 PM | Cocoa Riverfront Park

For something a little different, head to Cocoa Riverfront Park for Space Coast Print Fest.

This one-day festival celebrates the art of printmaking and brings together local and regional printmakers, zine creators, independent publishers and other artists.

Visitors can discover different printmaking techniques, meet creators and browse unique artwork while enjoying the waterfront setting of Cocoa Riverfront Park.

Welcome Fall at Green Gables' Harvest Festival

September 26 | 9 AM–3 PM | Melbourne

It may still feel like summer outside, but we're officially welcoming fall!

The 9th Annual Green Gables Harvest Festival takes place September 26 and features more than 45 vendors, arts and crafts, food trucks, music and children's activities.

Admission is free, making this a great family-friendly Saturday activity.

You'll find everything from handmade goods and honey to books, baskets, quilts, face painting and other seasonal finds.

And while you're there, you'll also get a chance to experience one of Melbourne's unique historic properties along the Indian River Lagoon.

Walk for a Cause in Cocoa Beach

September 26 | Cocoa Beach

The Friends of the Poor Walk returns to Cocoa Beach for its third year.

The event raises awareness and funds to support local charitable efforts through the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Our Saviour's Church.

It's a chance to enjoy a morning near the beach while supporting neighbors throughout the community.

Hit the Trails for the Running Wild 5K

September 27 | Melbourne

Prefer your weekend adventures on the move?

The Running Wild Trail 5K benefits Florida Wildlife Hospital and helps support its work caring for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

Instead of a traditional road race, runners get to enjoy a trail setting while helping an organization dedicated to protecting local wildlife.

Catch a Rocket Launch

Of course, no Space Coast activity list would be complete without looking toward the sky.

September may bring launch opportunities from Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, but launch schedules frequently change because of weather, technical conditions and mission requirements.

If a launch lines up with your September plans, some popular viewing areas include the Titusville waterfront, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach and beaches throughout central and southern Brevard County.

Night launches are especially spectacular!

Local tip: Always check the latest launch schedule before heading out and arrive early for highly anticipated missions.

Spend a September Morning at a Local Market

You don't necessarily need a special event to make a weekend adventure out of exploring the Space Coast.

Brevard County has markets throughout the area where you can shop for produce, local foods, handmade items and other finds.

Consider spending a Saturday morning exploring a local market and then grabbing lunch somewhere you've never tried before. It's one of the easiest ways to discover new local businesses while supporting the community.

Take Advantage of the Space Coast's Outdoor Lifestyle

September is also a great reminder that some of our best activities don't require an event ticket.

Plan your own Space Coast adventure:

  • Watch the sunrise from Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach or Melbourne Beach.

  • Kayak through the waterways and mangroves around Brevard County.

  • Explore the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.

  • Take an evening walk along the Indian River Lagoon.

  • Spend the day at one of Brevard's beautiful beaches.

  • Visit a local park or nature trail.

  • Pack a picnic and enjoy the waterfront.

  • Look for dolphins, manatees and native birds.

  • Finish the evening watching a Space Coast sunset.

If you're heading outdoors, mornings and evenings can be much more comfortable than the middle of the day during September.

Make September an Adventure on Florida's Space Coast

One of the best things about living on the Space Coast is that there's always something new to discover.

You can watch a rocket launch one weekend, browse a local art market the next, spend Saturday morning on the beach and finish the month welcoming fall at a community festival.

From Titusville and Cocoa to Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Viera, Melbourne and the beaches, September gives you plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy everything Brevard County has to offer.

So grab your calendar, pick a few adventures and make the most of September on Florida's Space Coast!
